Things have been in a word, hectic. Crazy-not-enough-hours-in-the-day-whirlwind-busy. I started my post-doc last week (8/13), and am loving it and hating it. More on that later. I’m terribly behind in posting all the haps at our house and in life in general, so I’m dedicating the naps today to catching up. Here’s hoping Lucas and Charlotte are on board [...]

Last night we some pretty crazy weather, torrential rain, tornado warnings all over the place, a rumored funnel cloud over the Kennedy , and then, the sirens went off. No kidding, the emergency broadcast system came on the TV, and then the sirens started going off. Of course, Charlotte was sound asleep at this point, [...]
Pretty neat, if you like charts

I found a cool website through some other sites that I frequent. It has several charts showing each state’s historical voting record since 1948. See? Like I said, pretty neat. And very interesting to see how some states/regions are for the most part die-hard loyal to one party (I’m looking at you, Prairie region and [...]

Charlotte has discovered screeching. Ear-piercing, high pitched screeching. And she thinks its hilarious. Oh, joy. Lucas is incredibly out of sorts for his nap and is reaching the point of hysteria. This is the fallout from taking them to the BAM! this afternoon. A good time was had by all, but it still wreaks havoc on the [...]

I had started writing this last week, and then fever struck, and its been saved in draft form ever since.
I’ve had a bit of writer’s block lately, but I’ve got some things to update about the kiddos.
First, Lucas. I think Lucas is going to be crawling in a month, maybe less. He’s been doing this [...]
Sad day

Its a sad day for our family. M’s uncle died on Tuesday, today is the service. Its wasn’t a total shock, as he’s been sick, but death still can seem sudden, even when its expected. I knew this uncle pretty well, as his daughter, M’s cousin, was one of my friends from college, and she introduced [...]
Has Angelina given birth?

There are rumors circulating that Angelina gave birth to her twin girls on Friday in France. I truly hope this is not true. She’s not due until August. As a mother of preemies born at 31 weeks, I would not wish that experience on any mother. And I can’t even imagine going through the trauma [...]

I had a first interview at the end of April at a therapeutic day school – School A (one very similar to my internship site, yet different). That interview went well, and at the end of our meeting, the director confirmed that there were 2 positions, and also one other position that had a strong administrative [...]

Happy Birthday!

No, its not L’il Dude and Pushpin’s birthday, its their Daddy’s! M is 34 years old today (I’m not far behind, turning 34 in October). Wow, are we really those mature-sounding numbers? I remember when my parents were that age. They started their family much earlier than M and I, and seemed old and wise, [...]
