Things have been in a word, hectic. Crazy-not-enough-hours-in-the-day-whirlwind-busy. I started my post-doc last week (8/13), and am loving it and hating it. More on that later. I’m terribly behind in posting all the haps at our house and in life in general, so I’m dedicating the naps today to catching up. Here’s hoping Lucas and Charlotte are on board [...]

Last night we some pretty crazy weather, torrential rain, tornado warnings all over the place, a rumored funnel cloud over the Kennedy , and then, the sirens went off. No kidding, the emergency broadcast system came on the TV, and then the sirens started going off. Of course, Charlotte was sound asleep at this point, [...]

I have been terribly neglectful in my postings, and much of it has been due to some personal stressors, some of which I will be putting into separate posts.
Firstly, I am leaving my at-home part-time job to start my fellowship next week. As excited as I am about my fellowship, I’m quite saddened to be [...]

Easy runs, just relaxed, had to stop myself from running too much farther than this. Ended up mixing in a little speedwork to get a little punch at the end of my runs. Felt good, foot and knee were fine, now the last couple of days I’ve had a weird pain in my back on [...]

This week’s running and training went pretty well. It was my last long run before the 1/2 on 8/10. That day I aimed for 12 miles and would have settled for 10. I was able to get in 11 miles, and felt pretty good throughout the run and after. I have had some slight nagging [...]

I didn’t get as much running in as I would have liked this week, mostly due to the scorching heat and humidity we had all week. I made promises to myself several times last week to go for a quick run at lunch, but no dice. It was too hot most days, and I was [...]

Pretty good week, mostly due to having a wedding to attend on 7/12, so my motivation to exercise and eat well was high (I even squeezed in a double workout one day – a rarity). I didn’t get into the dress I wanted to wear, but I wore a different one that I was surprised [...]

Nothing exciting to report on the running front. I finally signed up for two races I’ve been procrastinating about (the CDC – a 1/2 marathon – and the Fleet Feet Women’s Run – a 10K).
I’m trying to push myself a bit more and get through a run without any walking at all, but its hard when I [...]

I always try to do 5-6 days of cardio, but I just can’t seem to get in more than 4 days, and often only 3 days. As much as I love this time of year, I really need to get out there early enough so that I’m not dealing with the hordes of Team in Training people, as well [...]
Who doesn’t love a meme?

Saw this meme on a few blogs I frequent, and its been a while since I’ve done a meme. I like these types of memes, they really speak to that compulsive list-maker part of me. ETA: Wow, how many more times can I write meme before it gets ridiculous?
Four jobs I’ve had
